Position: Transportation Management Center (TMC) Assistant Manager
Location: Fort Lauderdale
Requirements: Bachelors Degree and/or 4 to 5 years of management experience in a dispatch or call center environment
The desired candidate will assist in managing the daily operations activities of the Transportation Management Center in accordance with established protocols and policies. Responsibilities include: day-to-day management of the TMC staff and resources including problem resolution; developing/updating Standard Operating Guidelines and training materials; preparation of monthly reports and performance measures. Must have the ability to work alternate work schedules and be on call 24 hours/day.
The candidate must have excellent working knowledge of Windows operating system and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The candidate must also have excellent written/oral communication skills along with a good understanding of key management concepts. 
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Position: Transportation Management Center (TMC) Operator
Location: Fort Lauderdale
The operator is responsible for monitoring the roadways, including detecting, confirming, updating, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic events, congestion with ITS devices such as closed circuit TV, detectors, etc. The operator will act like a 911 dispatcher within a call center environment at the Florida Department of Transportation TMC.
This person’s responsibilities will include dispatching Road Rangers via a two-way radio system to assist motorist, respond to events and other activities that required timely and efficient responses. Experience from a Call Center, Police/Fire Dispatch Center, or TMC environment either as an operator, call taker, or dispatcher is a plus.

• Ability to communicate clearly
• Ability to work alternate work schedules and on-call duties at a 24 hour operation center
• Skilled in the use of Window base application, preferred Internet Explorer, Word, Excel
• Knowledge of two-way communication systems
• Knowledge of the Freeway Systems within Broward County
The following additional skills are a plus but not required:
• Knowledge of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
• Knowledge of Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and/or Highway Advisory Radio (HAR)
• Knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
• Knowledge of Incident Command System or NIMS
• One or more years of college
• Spanish speaking and writing skills are a plus
