Welcome to the SMART SunGuide Website
SunGuide is the statewide name for Florida Department of Transportation's Intelligent Transportation Systems or ITS. SunGuide ITS integrates technology into the transportation system's infrastructure to help relieve congestion, increase safety, and make traveling on South Florida highways more reliable.
SMART stands for Systems Management for Advanced Roadway Technologies. By doing it "The SMART Way", FDOT District IV's transportation management center (TMC) programs will continuously provide outstanding ITS products and services to its internal and external customers.
Following is an overview of some of the highlights of our website:
- A real-time map shows traffic impacting events providing travelers the information they need to make informed decisions on what route to take. The map also includes dynamic message sign and CCTV camera locations and status. Video images from the cameras and sign messages can be viewed by "mousing-over" map icons.
- Sign up to receive email traffic alerts at work, at home, or to your cell phone or pager.
- The Road Ranger service patrol is a free service provided by FDOT. In Broward County the Road Rangers patrol I-95, I-595, and I-75 providing free assistance to motorists in need.
- Public feedback is welcomed through the use of forms throughout the website.
